Please send letter to the C. S. Commr informing them that in consideration of the creditable Examination passed by Mr Ernest Woodhouse, and of his being "proximé accessit" in the late competition for a Ceylon Writership, the Camaroon is willing to confer on him a cadetship now vacant, in Hongkong, and asking them to acquaintificate him in due form.

I have already ascertained from them that they are prepared to comply.
