of robbery, and the law of the insire forbids punishment except only on confession, he still lies in prison; and, although the Authorities are satisfied of his guilt from the evidence adduced, the guarantee deprives them of their usual means of enforcing the truth in such cases, and they are, therefore, unable to convict him. He is perfectly aware and is content to lie in prison.
