I have received your Treasury letter No 54 October 13th 1865 in reply to mine Nr. 21. 736 of the 16th instant addressed to Acty. Col. Secretary.

You inform me that His Excellency the Acting Governor rules that Copies of the letters I mention in my letter No 54. being from the Treasury to your Office must of necessity be sent to me and that I am at liberty to produce them with mine.

You do not tell me however the grounds upon which my letter No. 21 was struck off the List of the correspondence forwarded to the Commission of Enquiry into the arrears of Police Lighting and Water Rates.

My letter No 24 to you especially shows how and where I was addressed so
