on the 15th June. Three others had previously been executed for the same offence on the 20th Ultimo, and their Captain has recently been captured near Macao and will in all human probability undergo the same fate, as the evidence against him is stronger than against any of the others.
Nevertheless, in the intervals between the first and second executions, a large English Barque, the "Buonaventure", was followed from this Harbor by a fast sailing junk, and attacked the same evening. She was captured and plundered notwithstanding the gallant defence made by the Captain and his mate.
I enclose a detailed account of which I have no doubt that the parties who fitted out the Pirate reside in Staunton - and it is not improbable that the Piratical Junk itself is even now in the Harbour amongst a crowd of other junks - of which it has been hitherto the practice to take no account - and over which exercised no control has ever been.
