Mr. Mercer that the master of the mint had been requested
to supply the amount of Coinage desired
by him in the despatch above quoted

Authority for so extensive
an importation.
The only Order given is
that contained in Mr. Mercer's despatch
No 133 of the 8th September last year.

that the Agents be instructed to send

because in a letter
from them to the Crown Agents
of the 4th January, they state that a further
