I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd inst., in which you inform me that you feel yourselves aggrieved by Accusation brought against Ty Fur Fritchell on the 18th and the 20th of September last, and that you have been advised by the Government that you have a right to appeal to the Supreme Court and request me to give instructions that you should be furnished with a Certified Copy of the Proceedings taken at the Magistracy on the said dates.

I beg in answer to say that it is not in my power to grant your request. The ordinance by which appeals are regulated (No. 4 of 1855) requires that an application should be made in writing within three clear days after the determination of the case by the Magistrate.
