you
informed that an alteration had been made in the 115th Clause
the Colonial Regulations, to the effect that, in calculating the leave of absence to which an Officer is entitled, any period of absence without Salary should not be taken into consideration.
ant
however of opinion, that as this absence without Salary (which is in excess of the 115th Colonial Regulation) should not be counted against the Bublic Officer in calculating his leave, so neither should it be counted for him in calculating his length of service with a view to a Retiring Bension.
In this opinion the Lords of the Treasury They will accordingly adopt it in cases where the rate of Bension is regulated by their exclusive authority.
