before taking any further steps in the Sale of the Crosby's premises
I beg to refer your Lordship to the accompanying Corcopondence on the subject, and to observe that I fully coincide in the view which the Commanding Royal Engineer, Lieutenant bolonel Lovell, takes in the matter, as I do not
think it probable that the war Department
intended to relinquish a claim to the full amount which this property would realize minns the actival Cost incursed by the Colonial Government of Honghong viz: $12.60 for reclamation from the Sea of certain land forming the frontage of these premises.
