The Way of Changes, Advantageous to the East and Next

Verandahs were added to give a better effect to the front of the buildings, but the changes in consequence, proposed by the Acting Surveyor General in a letter, dated 11th August, were afterwards dispensed with.

The alterations & enlargement of the laboratory & weighing office were to meet the requirements of the Assayer, and involved necessarily the additional drawings referred to.

The extra work on partitions and offices became necessary as various changes were made to the details of certain special divisions for which the general plan of partition drawings was not equally well adapted.

The weighing machine shed, it was thought desirable to construct of wood, which was less costly than the iron work first proposed to be sent out; this change rendered additional drawings necessary. The drawings for the Annealing furnace would have sufficed for the details.
