I am now drawing towards the close of the contract, and enabled to state that the total cost of the materials included in the Approximate Estimate, with sundry matters in addition will not exceed £22,400 say £22,400; having therefore succeeded by economical alterations of the original plans, in effecting a saving of £6221; and I believe this £6221 has resulted without in any way sacrificing the efficiency of the Mint.
