It is understood that he is to have free passage out to Hong Kong and home for himself and wife, in the vessel in which he may sail, and also for his family, excepting in the event of dismissal for misconduct.

Half salary to be allowed during the outward voyage. Full salary to the date of landing in Great Britain or home before the expiration of ten years when it is presumed he would come under the provisions of the Hong Kong pension regulations.

As it is probable the vessel will sail in about three weeks it is desirable that no time should be lost in concluding the arrangement otherwise it may be difficult to outfit in time.

I have found a suitable person procuring for this office, on the terms that the Peruvian Government give £40 per month to English mechanics sent out to their Mint.

I enclose copy of letter from Messrs W. Wall & Co. by which it will be seen that White is well suited for the office.
