From your letter of the a th thullime enclosing copy of despatch from His Excellency Sir Hercules Robinson, and referring to mine, addressed to the Colonial Secretary at Hong Kong of the 17th ultimo, I infer that the latter, (which was sent to the Colonial Office for the Hong Kong Mail bag) has been opened inadvertently; and treated as a letter to the Right Hon: W. E. Gladwell. I therefore send by the next mail, a duplicate of the letter in question to Hong Kong, under cover to Sir Hercules Robinson.
