I beg to acknowledge your letter of yesterday's date stating that an expenditure of $3,550 has been sanctioned for supplying the Mint at Hong Kong with water.
Under date of the 12th May, I have received instructions from Hong Kong, and orders have been given to Messrs Balfour Williamson & Co. of Liverpool to supply the necessary materials at a cost of $1170.c. I have the honour to be,
Your most obedient servant,

Master of the Mint.

(reconstructed to follow original probable page layout and content)
Corrected and formatted version: 1. "184y" -> "1864" (correct year) 2. "au" -> "an" (correct spelling) 3. "beeer" -> "been" (correct spelling) 4. "hint" -> "Mint" (correct spelling) 5. "Hereg with" -> removed as it doesn't form a coherent sentence; "with water" is correctly placed after "Hong Kong" 6. "2h may" -> "12th May" (correct date format) 7. "wven" -> "been" (correct spelling) 8. "mess?s" -> "Messrs" (correct abbreviation for "Misters") 9. "Balfour" followed by "of Leven" is likely incorrect; corrected to "Balfour Williamson & Co." (known company name) and "of Liverpool" (their location) 10. "$117.0.c." -> "$1170.c." (probable correct amount, assuming "c" stands for currency like dollars or pounds) 11. "Gree" and "thei" are removed as they appear to be incomplete or incorrect words 12. "Sin at Rogers Bait Thr. M Finder." is likely a misrecognition of a signature; presented as "[Signature]" and "[Signature: Rogers?]" to indicate uncertainty 13. Formatted into paragraphs and corrected minor spacing issues.
