Whereas also to be no provision made for an advance of Salary, as the undertaking extends, and becomes more fully developed, although at the commencement of an undertaking, a moderate salary might be deemed sufficient.

Again, should services not be required for the period which would entitle to pension, some provision should surely be made for the expense in returning home, for lost time & other delays.

And I would give much pleasure (under favourable circumstances) to consider an arrangement to serve you, but the foregoing considerations, which I take the liberty of submitting to you, seem to me fatal objections to interpose at present.
