I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th instant, authorising the acceptance of the tenders named in margin.
Krupp $1487.10.6 Rankin & Co $1576.6.9
With reference to your remark as to the list of parties tendering: in future a document shall be supplied in all cases shewing the tenders of various parties in past transactions, and the same practice shall be adopted in recommending the acceptance of certain tenders.
I do not however contemplate advertising any of the Contracts as in all undertakings of this kind, where incorrect work may lead to endless difficulties in consequence of the distance of the Establishment from England.
