I am directed by His Grace the Duke of Newcastle to accept Your Tender dated the 20th Janry 1864 for "Columns & Girders for the Mint of Hong Kong", amounting to £1720.7.2 if delivered in London, £1623.18.5 if delivered in Liverpool. The work is to be completed by the 23rd day of May next.
Payment: Cash on joint Certificate of myself and the Master of the Royal Mint, less 10 per Cent, reserved as a guarantee fund, until the whole of the work shall have been satisfactorily delivered in China.
You will be informed of the place of delivery in a few days.
Inclosed herewith copy of Specification and 5 sheets of detailed drawings marked B1, B2, B3, B4, B5.
