Free quarters will be provided for him in the vicinity of the Mint - a fee passage for himself and family unless delayed by reason of sickness - half salary on the outward voyage, and full salary from the date of landing in the Colony. If sent alone he will be allowed the separation allowance of 5 years.

I have the honour to inform you that on the recommendation of the Governor of Hong Kong, Her Majesty's Government have approved of William White as Assay Master in the Hongkong Mint with a salary of £225 sterling, rising by £22.10.0 a year, to a maximum of £337.10.0 per annum. Such increases to date from his appointment in the Colony.
He will be entitled to half salary from the date of his embarkation for Hongkong.
Free quarters will be provided for him in the vicinity of the Mint, he will be furnished with free passage to Hongkong.
