西方新倫理分類

所謂新民體,是指梁啟超所濃的文體。任於戊戌政變後,逃亡 日本,先後發國風報、淸業報、新民叢報等以辦人民起來改革 國政。所謂新民,是取業於大學所謂「布日新。日日新,又日新。 」「作新民」之意。任公於叙述論中說:「國也者,獲民而成,國 之有民,殺身之有四胺五錢筋脉血輸也,未有的已斷。五臟已瘲 ̇,筋賦已傷,血輪巳滴,而身能存者,則未有其民愚店怯闘渙散| 混濁,而國對胎之者。故欲其身之長久親,則攝生之術不可不明, 欲其國之安宮母榮,則新民之道不可不購。」任公在報章上發表 的文字,是集古女、白話文、韻齬、俚語、外國名詞、法等一爐(五)重私微而不宜公镔對國家民族有弊端?試說明它的道理。爲何不 我冶,不拘一格,可說是文體的一大解放,而且錄錄常帶有感情, 好能感助者。一時學者,以及報章上的文字都教尙學習它,稱爲 「新民燚」。這種文章風行一時,活躍於清末民初的文墐垂三十年

二)業啟超的文華風格如何?在中國學術上的地位如何?有何重要著作

2 辛任公篇文,初學桐城派,後學跳晉,在日本辦報時,却首先倡導 解放古文,而代以平易流暢的文書,所作融合了裕略、謝語、截糖 古文及外國語法,信確捧礙,自成一格,號爲「新民體」,輕堂 兵,洋洋。梁氏自謂筆錄常帶感情上,文章能破能立榮 理清晰,深入機出,深具幫助動力,此種文體,風行一時,是爲新女 學運業的先驅。晚年又轉而從事於白話文的寫作。稱之,他在報燃 上所發表的文字,其成就與實獄,是無人能及的,「文華報國小, 微路近世史上任公司當之無愧了。

潜翼、勱」仍不足以造了作官的責任?......

因爲個人生息於社會國家中,安享社會國家的權利,既享有報利 便有宮盡其對此會國家的職務,否則便等於負債不證,人人如是, 則社會國家的血本,便受到無期的債客,日夜的侵蝕、瓜分、消耗 ∵而無所墁補,結果只有弄到日艦而至於我亡而已。 作者又录例說出于女受父母的恩惠而不思報答,那末饿于女便等 於欠了父母的情而不償還,這就們為不孝。同樣,國民受國家的恩 惠而不固報答,那末他們和不同罪,簡直是國家的蟊賊,這只 重私際?只重獨善其身的人,同樣犯了大逆不道的大罪。

至於「潤、翼、1仍不足以盡了作官的責任的原因,作者舉案說 部實習爲例,說出某一官吏作官很跟潔,但死後,仍然受到冥王炮 烙之刑。這就是因爲他只京東身拿過,雖然做到,偶、動的境地: ,但却沒有盡一已對國家民族的責任和義務,適和六木偶於處,並 水不飲,於既之外,一無所聞間的道理,豁然是犯了失職之罪, ̇也當然是死有餘亊啦。

mat circumstances, in. the years 1060-1868 produced the fall of the Tolturawa Shogunate ?

Since 1630, Japan had adopted the seclusion policy. But in 1854 her door was burst open by Commodore: Ferry. Subsequently, she was forced to sign treaties wiht America, Britain and other Powers. The Bakufu waa blamed for failing to protect. Japan and expel the foreigners. Ite domestic aperien exploited the sit- uation to restore power to the Emperor. In short the combined force of external pressure and internal discontent brought down the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Ti Naosuke, the Shogun's rogent, a strong upholder of the authority! of the shogunate, was assassinated. in 1860. His death left the Tokugawa government without firm leadership at a time when there was a series of challenges to the Shogun's power.

The nucleus of the anti-Shogun movement was formed by the young and ambitious samurai and the emerging. western clans, notably Satsuma, Choghu

Hizen and Toza. The samurai were diecontented because during the long era of peace under: the Tokugawa rule, they gradually became a uselesa,. parasitic and impoverished class.

they wanted were sweeping changes.

∴On the other hand, the äatcho ito chans were the traditional enemies of the Shogun. They especial- ly resented the system of sunkin kotai (alternate attendance ).

梁任公的話,有他對的一面,但亦有不敢苟同的一面,我覺得我國 對於公導也注重的,不過關您於私方面而已。我國的道德哲學 是「修己雅人」之學,是「內聖外王」之明。所謂千多己所關卡 內聖」,就是私德的間類。所謂「洽人」,所「外王」,就是公 確的問題。*致、誠、正,修身的工夫,做人的根本道理, 也就是所讚私機。銫身工夫完成了,才有資格幹齊家、治國、平天 下的大事,還就是所謂公鐡。私德邋未能悠到家,當然不能談 盡,這是本末始終的道理。「夫子之,忠恕而已。」所謂了恕 」,所謂「正其籤不謀其利,明其道不計其功」,所謂「己所不欲 勿施於人」(邮是己之所欲,必施於人〕,所謂「己欲立而立人 ,己欲迎而越人」,所謂「得志澤加於民」,所謂「捧則兼善天下 」,所讚「親親而仁民,仁民愛物」,所謂「人不獨親其親,不 獨于其子,所謂「中魔治國的九孥」等等,不勝枚舉,過都無公微 的問題,而這種崇高的道蠡哲學,一直觀厚的影响署我國國民,在 「歷史上也就產生不少「殺身成仁」「舍生取獎」的「以天下篇己任 3的英雄人物。這種「推己及人」「民胞物與』的泛愛精神,也就 ̇是我國傳統思想的精華,是公體的表現。可惜陳義太高,國民未眼

The discontented samurai and the daimyo formed the backbone of the Sonno-Jo-i movement (Honour the Emperor and· expel the foreigners). Behind them, providing financial support, were the great merchant families of Osaka.

In 1862,the Shogun committed::

a grave mistake of relaxing the system of sankin kotai. In the first place, the system of leaving hostages at Edo was abolished. Secondly, compulsory residence of the daimyo at Edo was reduced to one hundred days. every three years. The immediate- outcome was that most of the daimyo were enboldened. Soon, there was an exodus of many daimyo and their families from Edo to Kyoto, which now became the headquarters of the anti-Bakufu part..

was noted earlier, the Shogun was forced to sign treaties with the foreign powers. But after the sign- ing of the treaties,anti-foreign fee ing increased rather than decreased. The Emperor, refused to ratify the treaties. In 1863 he aummoned the Shorun to Kyoto and ordered him to expel the foreigners. This was another blow to the prestige of the Shogunate. The Shogun was now in a dilemma. He was in no position to carry out the order. Expulsion of the foreigners would mean war, defec "and humiliation; whereas compromise

with the foreigners would be regard.. ed as a sign of weakness and disloyalty.

In order to produce better effect, or to give a clearer mental picture to the reader, it is often helpful that we compare one object to another (Nate that. the two objects compared should have at least one point in common)

It is clear that the expression ir the 2nd sentence gives a better. description to the feeling of the old lady. She must be feeling heart-broken because the news was like a dagger, piercing into her heart.

In (b), the news is assumed to, be 'a dagger while in (d), came] -s', 'ships..
