Whose Salaries have not been paid
from Colonial Funds;
The Bishop of Victoria has had no reason to expect that he could be recognized as having any claim to Pension under any Regulations in force in the Colony, and it is only in consideration of the fact, stated by his Lordship, that he has for 15 years filled the Bishoprick of Victoria, and during
that long period
discharged without payment
from the Government - a large portion
of the pastoral duties of the Colony,
that my Lords feel disposed to
make an
exception in his case; and
to allow, specially, his application last brought before the Legislative Council; If it should appear to that Body that the Bishop's services give him a just claim to be awarded a Pension, not exceeding
£300 a year, out of the Income of the Colony My Lords will not object to the Governor proposing to them a measure to give effect to their desire.
