It should not be overlooked that, from the nature of the proposed coinage and the probable large demand, greater power is necessary, the Engines of the Hong Kong Mint are double the power of those at Sydney.
Indeed, in the case of the Sydney Mint, I am informed that a large additional outlay for machinery, tools, and utensils was eventually incurred, amounting, it is believed to no less a sum than £10,000. This arose from omitting, in the first instance, to supply the Mint with suitable requisites which eventually led to considerable loss of time and money.
