It should be defined, & that the weight & composition of Hong Kong coinage has not been defined in any of the Ordinances legalizing its circulation since this "Colony"; - the Reasoning argument, I presume being that if it is unnecessary to specify the weight & composition of the standard coin, it is less necessary to specify the weight & Composition of token coins. It is hardly worthwhile to test the value of the above quoted statement by referring to the Precedents in detail, but I may instance the Nova Scotia Currency Act, based on which, in making Mexican (Dollars) legal tender, requires them to be of the full weight of 416 grains, & containing 373 grains of pure silver.
