respecting
A claim made on the Imperial Government for the conveyance from Duke of York's Island to Sydney, of certain British and Foreign Seamen who had been wrecked in the Brig "Carl Hardwick" of Hong Kong.
My Lords have directed Deputy Commissary General Strickland to pay the amount of the claim, viz £26-12-6 to the Government of New South Wales in repayment of the sum advanced by the Colonial Treasury, but their Lordships are of opinion that as the Ship in question belonged to Hong Kong, the amount advanced should be charged upon the Treasury Revenue of that Colony, they would suggest that the Crown Agents should be instructed to pay the same out of any monies in their hands on account of Hong Kong.
Directions will be given to the Paymaster General to receive the amount.
Sir R. Rogers, Bt.
I am, &c.,
