I attended P. C. Thomas Manly at the time of his being wounded, during the escape of Convicts from Stone Cutters Island in April last.

The principal wound was inflicted by a heavy hard-wood pole striking him on his head.

He remained in Hospital from the 2nd April to the 9th of May and was then discharged in a very weakened condition.

He has never been in the same state of health before receiving this injury.
