This man who was enlisted here joined the Force on the 9th October 1800, and was discharged on the 8th September last. His average pay and the gratuity has been $13 per month, calculated at the rate of one month's pay for each year of Service under the 18th Section of the Hongkong Pension Minute, awarded him has been. The man has been highly recommended for Charitable Consideration by the Captain Superintendent and the small gratuity will just enable him to return to his friends in India.
I have to ask for your approval of this expenditure for which due provision has been made in the Estimate for the Current year.
