Of the Student Interpreters, the following outlay on the part of the Colonial Government will be no longer necessary, namely, to each of two teachers the sum of $5 per mensem now paid them for rent, and the sum of $1.15 per mensem now paid to the Interpreter of the Police Bank as an extra teacher.

In addition to this balance of $5 per Mensem to be paid by the Colonial Government, I have to apply for a free payment of the freight of such passage to and from Canton at the commencement and termination of our official stay in that City, being given.

With reference to the payment of $30 per mensem as rent, I would desire to bring before the notice of His Excellency the Governor that, during the stay at Canton, the house furniture as it may be possible to convey there, for some small additional Sum for the completion of the internal arrangements of the house.
