now do myself the horror to transmit you a copy of a letter which I have received from the Packet-Agent there, to the effect that his application was intended to be for Two Coolies at $6 a month each, and I shall be glad under the circumstances, to be favoured with His Excellency The Governor's amended authority for this expenditure, the minute in question, only authorizes an outlay of $6 a month for both the Coolies asked for, an error which arose from the incorrect wording of Mr. Walsh's letter to me.

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your Despatches #516, 517, and 521 of the 26th and 27th ult., together with a supply of printed forms. With reference to your dispatch No. 521, I beg to inform you that the sum stated in my requisition for the services of Two Coolies is $6 a month.
