5.-

I trust I have advanced sufficient to enlist your sympathy to move the Secretary at War upon this subject, feeling assured that it is far from the wish of Her Majesty's Ministers to compete with private enterprise, particularly in this distant, trying, Colony, by undue official encroachment,

and expensive exersise of official power.

For many years I have been in the Medical staff, and having had a similar education to my son, and having been similarly situated, I feel deeply the hardship of being backed by many years of experience, and strong claims to positions, as well as those who have been or may be situated; I therefore hope that you will pardon my intruding this subject upon you, and that you will excuse anything that may be at variance with official propriety (of which I may have been guilty).

I have the honor to be Your most Obedient Servant,

Arbitrat ursyon
