the estimates
now
forwarded
compared with those of the present year, and an approximate statement of Assets and Liabilities at the close of
the last quarter prepared by Auditor General.
From the remarks in the
tabular Statement it will be seen that the items of increase in the
present Estimates whether in Establishments or Public Works have
already formed the subjects of special reports, and in almost every
instance the approval of the Secretary of State has reached the Colony.
From Inclosure No.2 it will
be seen that the Assets of the Colony
on the 15th July exceeded the liabilities by about $436,000, but this calculation
was, as stated upon
the face of
this Return by M. Rennie, exclusive of disbursements at home on account of
the Mint which were not known.
