I have the honour to acknowledge Your Excellency's reply to my Dispatch No 187 of the Ultimo, to express my cordial concurrence in the proposition it contains and to convey the gratification with which I have read Your Excellency's assurance that the Governments of Portugal and Great Britain have the same object in view, viz.: the denial of assistance to the Insurgents in arms against the Imperial Government.
