5. Half Salary from date of embarcation from England.

6. In the event of the Mint being given up before the Officer shall have become entitled to a pension, to receive one full year's salary after arrival in England, with free passage round the Cape for himself and family.

7. I have not thought it right to provide in the case of these officers, any more than in Mr. Kinder's own case, for their resignation from ill health before the expiration of ten years, otherwise than such contingency is met by the terms of the Pension Minute, being satisfied that the Colony has so much improved in salubrity that any person of fair average health and strength and under 40 years of age will find no difficulty in passing through the prescribed term of Service, especially with the help of an occasional trip to Europe, for which liberal provision is made by the Colony in the Passage Minute. Any one without the qualifications I have mentioned, should not accept the appointment.
