communicated verbally on the subject, and he has given orders to the Chung-Lee, Brigadier General Ling-Hien, to go in person to A.M. Consulate, to confer about going himself with the gun Boat's to Deep Bay, to examine into the affair, and regulate it discriminating between good and bad.
Should there be any Pirates they will at once be taken and forwarded for punishment, and as regards the guarding of the road to prevent escape he (the Chung-Lee) will detach a body of Soldiers from the neighbourhood, for the purpose of doing.
The Viceroy now informs A.M's Consul of these arrangements and begs that he will communicate them to the Hongkong Authorities.
