Cheong Fat Tuck a seaman

Sailing in the Salt fish boat Yek-hap-

to Hamlow reports that

on

the 9th instant when the boat he belonged

to

was on

a voyage from Chun Chuen to

Hongting, she was attacked by two boats. One of them

Haka and the other a

fishing boat, having on board more than

10 men each both armed with Cannon;

on approaching they fired three shots

without damage,

then came alongside,

threw

on board 5 or 6 stink pots,

boarded

and put the crew of 9 men under hatches. Informant jumped overboard with two other seamen and made their escape.

Cargo 102 pieces of Plank and 80 bundles of tobacco leaf which with the boat was sailed off by the Pirates in the direction of Kong Moon, Can identify both boats and several of the Pirates.
