The drains have been choked up to a depth of 3
3 or 4 feet. - worst place is close to the Union Tanks in Peel Street at the foot of the steps here a considerable length of the drain has been torn up, and both the Tanks and houses nearby have had a narrow escape.
The silt washed down is deposited in large quantities on the Queen's Road. Little or no injury has been done to the Praya. A large hole has been torn up in Bonham Road North of Lot 760 caused by the overseer of the work not carrying out the drainage ordered by Mr. Cleverly.
It heavy slip has occurred on the Queen's Road adjoining Possession Point from the Tenant's not having built the retaining wall ordered. Another at the junction of Queen's Road with Wanchai Road from the same cause.
Another slip has recurred under the new Sookunpo School now in course of erection, at the back of the Plot of land for which Mr. magnine has received a Squatter's license, it was intended to build retaining Wall here next year and I have now been obliged to
