The Board of Enquiry appointed by His Excellency the Governor (authority conveyed by Colonial Secretary's letter No. 4.7 dated 22nd April ultimo) to make enquiry touching the escape of certain convicts from the Jail at Stone Cutters' Island on the 21st of April, has the honor to report that the investigation was commenced on April 23rd and terminated on the 2nd May instant, all persons considered capable of giving evidence pertinent to the matter having been examined; The Minutes of proceedings and Appendices referred to in the Minutes are forwarded with the Report.
