In conclusion I have respectfully to state, that although the Board in their report have attributed the recent escape to the Prison rules not having been carried out, thereby implying negligence on my part, I trust His Excellency will not endorse this censure.

To preserve unsullied a character for zeal and faithfulness in discharging my duties, which every one I have served under have borne testimony to.
