Book under my command toward the Island of Troniang, managing to arrive there after dark not to be seen. On searching the harbor and Creek, I received information that the junks in question had been there two or three days back, but had now left. I therefore proceeded at 10 pm towards Mirs Bay, and at midnight arrived close to the village of Typorny, where the Piratical Junks were supposed to be lying. Large fires were now lit on the hills abreast of the junk. The boats being evidently a signal of our approach, and there fishing boats informed that the Piratical junks were lying aground a short distance. I therefore ordered the boats to be lowered and proceeded towards the junks, but their crews had taken the alarm, and before we could get alongside, they had given distance up.

But no prisoners could be captured. The junks were recognized by the Informers, but the Inhabitants denied any knowledge of them, saying they had only arrived the day before, and were not Pirates.
