4 strength of body and mind, necessary for the efficient discharge of the duties of my office, I have no course left to me but to send in application to be superannuated. With this object I have the honor to inclose certificates from the two Medical Practitioners (Dr Kane and Dr Jack) who have attended me during my illness, certifying that I am unable from infirmity of body to further perform the duties of my situation.
I have also the honor to enclose a certificate showing my age as required by Governor's Minute, respecting pensions, made on the 18th May 1862.
I beg, for the information of His Excellency the Acting Governor, to give the following brief statement of my services under the Government of this Colony;
In the month of October 1835, I first entered the service as Clerk in the Office of the Colonial Secretary, on a salary of £216 per annum.
