and to exhibit these in detail I have prepared a Tabular Statement giving the principal items in gross; estimated; as expended and now as required; giving the amounts for the years consequent upon these changes and suggested improvements; and also a statement of services not estimated for.
Now demanded but not estimated for the construction account during the present season: these latter consist of curb stones for walks, brick-paved channels, brick edging to flower beds, pedestals and seats, labour to finish trenching for a further period of six months, and stone cutting and blasting connected therewith.
I take this opportunity of observing that these services executed and proposed are all of the simplest character; there is no outlay for ornamental work of any description, and the only embellishment, if it may be so called, is that merely requisite for regularity, such as the correct defining of the several terraces and walks.
(Signed) Charles St. George Cleverly,
Surveyor General.
