is novo reported as being at Forchow. As the Wyoming was not within the boundary of the Harbour, the proclamation of 31st January 1862 was not sent to her. Her arrival was duly reported to the Harbour Master's Office by the Government, and a note was sent to the Acting Colonial Secretary; as no instructions were given to me on the subject, I took no action.

With reference to that part of your letter of yesterday replying to mine of the previous day on the subject of the Federal War Steamer Wyoming, you explain that the Wyoming was outside the boundaries. Observing her anchor near Green Island, I presumed her Commander had received orders to watch the movements of H.M. Gunboats at anchor.
I am not aware as to whether the Wyoming embarked any or what stores.
