attacked and captured 4 or 5 Pirate Vessels after killing a number of their crews at a place called Tigho, where I captured seven Junks and Prisoners
47 occasions (31 of these were acquitted)
The Fishermen at Deep Bay and other places that were searched on our return to Hongkong confirmed this intelligence, stating that the Mandarins had taken all the large Piratical Vessels about the neighbourhood, and that only a few small boats remaining were concealed in different places.
Through this I concluded it would be useless to continue further search, as the Junks which attacked the "Chino" must have been those taken by the mandarins, else they were expressly fitted out in this harbour for the purpose and returned here after executing their design.
