Barracks, this is also in Cantonment Land the ground site but do not recommend it in any way, here is steep and be rugged rocky it will require the diversions of the water courses, the erection of a heavy retaining Wall on the approach line of the Mullah and an Road and Bridge; these works would occupy nearly a year before a single Store the mint could be laid.
The main front of the building must of necessity face the Mullah and the whole position is so enclosed by high land and the Barracks, that I fear it would be an unhealthy building.
I can therefore only advert to this site, and it's adoption can only be justified by the actual impossibility of obtaining another.
At the Eastern limit of the Cantonment there is an area capable of being reclaimed from the sea in front of the Euston Grand House, but this together with the Guard House itself, the stoppage of the branch Road from Praya to Queens Road and the abandonment of the Colonial Market would but give a space of 270 feet square, this is marked C.
