Forwarding a police report.

It is considered that the site has two values; the site is suitable for a police station, but the whole building is in such a state of decay that either further new repairs are impossible or it should be abandoned or a new site should be considered.

I am entirely in agreement that it must be either repaired or rebuilt. The building proposed to be erected on the site will require a significant amount of money.

The offices are also in a very bad state, and as with the Supreme Court, I am in hopes that with the repairs proposed in the Court itself and the general arrangement which will be carried out, no necessity will arise to erect another building either on that site or elsewhere.

It is a question whether the site at Government offices will not require the area for other purposes, such as the Mint. The area is small, but it is the only suitable position for such an establishment without the disposal of the Colonial Government.

The Post office will have to be rebuilt on account of its current state and a sum of $6550 has been provided in the Colonial estimates for that purpose.

Forwarding $86550 and $209.
