OFFICE OF SURVEYOR GENERAL
ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE NECESSARY TO BE INCURRED FOR
Two School houses in Victoria
PLAN OR DESCRIPTION.
The School Committee having obtained His Excellency the Acting Governor's sanction to the erection of two school houses for Districts in Victoria too far removed from the Central School in Gough Street for children in those localities to attend it, and the present temporary premises for such District schools being in every way insufficient and disreputable in appearance; the plans now have been arranged after consultation with the Committee and are now submitted with the accompanying estimate for His Excellency's approval.
One school is intended for the Taipingshan District, the other for East Point or Sookumpoo, the former to be placed on a vacant area in Hospital Road, the latter in the vicinity of the market, that being available land, and to effect this arrangement it will be necessary to level the site, clear the ground and retain the wall.
