Belcher's Bay

PLAN OR DESCRIPTION.

This service is in connexion with the Bridges to be erected, retaining walls at Belcher Bay and will be similar to the Nullah running from Battery Road to the Praya. It will be a wall at south from the Bridge at Middle Street to the one at the Praya; the walls will be nearly the same as will be 365 feet in length. Counterforts will be assessed between the Bridges to give extra strength.

The bed of the Nullah will be paved with wrought stone, on a bed of concrete of an average depth of one foot.

On average, concrete @ $50, brick ashlar concrete base of 2 feet extending masonry in the whole area and base of retaining walls to the Praya; at the termination from the entrance and at every 20 feet in length, the invert will be of flagstone falling formed of headers 1 foot deep, a line of Moleton sheet piling 10 feet deep and 3 inches thick will be driven at the stone Praya termination in a rectangular form to prevent action of the stream. A parapet will be provided 2 feet high at base and 18 inches at top.
