the payment of half-salary to Mr. Thornton, of the Harbour Master's department, during
his extended leave of absence
I have now to transmit to you a copy of a further letter on the subject from Mr. Thornton, reporting that his half-salary had not been credited in Hong Kong from the 31st July, and was incorrectly stopped in England.
Agents 9006 state it was found.
I have however thought it better to allow the arrangement reported in my desp: 22123 to remain in force, and I transmit to you herewith...
