I am directed by the Duke of Newcastle to acquaint you that the Officer Administering the Government of Hongkong has been informed of the extension of leave granted to you in February last.
The Duke of Newcastle will however authorize the Crown Agents to issue to you your half salary during this extension, but it will be necessary that you should forward to their office, or to your agent in Hongkong, a draft on the Crown Agents to pay to the Govt. any half salary he may have received on your account subsequent to the 31st July, 1863, the date...
