With regard to the important question of revenues for future Batteries, which still remains undecided, I am to add that his Excellency trusts that the matter in ague, on which a considerable amount in surveying has already been expended, may be at once settled. And I am to suggest that Sir J. Johnson and Lt. Col. Burgoyne may be placed in communication with this object.

And finally, I am to point out that, while deciding what portion of ground is to be appropriated for military purposes, it will be necessary to come to some conclusion regarding the cost of compensating Chinese occupants who may be dispossessed.
