The Principal parts of a. Superheterodyne receiver
ane:
(1) Antenna.
(2) R-F Amplifier.
(3) Hixer-Oscillator, or Converter
(4) I-F Amplifier
(5) Detector and AVC
(6) Driver or first audio amplifier",
(7) Audio Output.
(8) Loudspecker
1. The Antenna and its tuning tank circuit select
the required r-f carrier in the air.
2. R-F AmplifierVUN
This stage amplifies the weak signal when it
first enters the receiver. The signal voltage
to the input of the amplifier is small and is amplified before feeding into the mixer stage.
3. MIXER-OSCILLATOR, or Converter,
& Some receivers u e separate mixer-oscillator

fed the conventor. The purpose is exactly the Isame in each. case, The amplified signal from.
the output of the r-f amplifier stage feeds into the input of the mixer-oscillator circuit. The ose cillator is always tumed to a frequency. that/ is 455 kd higher than the frequency of the incoming signal going into the mixer.
B. I-P Amplifier.

Thus the only signal accepted by. this stage is 455 kc. The output of this. stage is large enough s to drive the detector stage. 6. Detectore
The purpose of this stage is fo detect the audio signal and thus recover the information.. The detector is also called the demodulator.
7. The Driver""
This is the first amplifier for the audio signal coming from the output of the detectory
