of the Report of the Commission upon which I imagine, lack of supervision was a foregone conclusion, the fact is that a Quarterly examination of the Public Chest had been held in the month of August, showing that all monies that should have been in the Treasury were there immediately before the robbery. All the notes counted that morning having, for a few moments, been left upon the Counter, it was by a coup de main the second shroff stole the money, in a manner in which no supervision might be held responsible if I wrote.

I have hitherto been silent upon this matter but the moment the Balance since the date sixty has been found for what I write, I should be paid in full. I bring the whole subject copy of the Report of Survey held under the cognizance of the Secretary of State that I may be received as evidence immediately before the robbery. The books fully anticipate I may say of the case. The Copy is certified to by the Auditor General. M. Meunier and nothing to testify neglect being attached to my proceedings before the Report was made.

I do not do so now because my conduct can be excellent. And when the amount was made up and specified by the Board but was found in the Chest was in accordance with Balance in the Cash Book and the evidence: if any brought against me before the Commission has been too profound secret, I have been guided as I have been in my vote and the official Despatch it accompanies.
