1. Any Chinese Proprietor who is dispossessed for Military purposes is to be compensated by the War Office. And as in the Case may be those who are dispossessed for the purposes of the Colonial fort; the amount of compensation will be determined by the Commissioners who were appointed under the Convention of Peking to assess their individual compensations.
513 The Estimates which have already been sanctioned make provision, to a certain extent, for compensation which may become due from the Colony, and if more is required it must of course be provided from the Colonial Revenue.
